About me

In February 2014, a thirteen-year-old Jacob watched Lee Evans’ final tour show, Monsters. His dad had bought it from the Co-op on DVD, £5.59, marked down from £10. He was instantly captivated by Evans’ style, energy and honest comedy. Since then Jacob has wanted only to perform. Stand-up, immersive theatre, children’s theatre and radio, whatever Jacob does, his main goal is to make himself feel good, make others feel good, and make all of his acting friends on Facebook unbelievably Jealous.

His music teacher gave him his first break at Shaftesbury School, Spring Variety evening 2014. He loved impersonating the teachers. Notably, pretending to be them when they barked their orders out, when they took pupils to their buses. “Do not overtake me, if you do the bus ain’t going”. He developed his observation, asking the question, why do sixth formers walk so slowly in the corridor? We need a lane system. He questioned his first audience member, asking, are you enjoying spring variety? Yes, said the man...um...good...a man ladies and gentlemen!

Ever since, Jacob has performed his own comedy shows at Shaftesbury, Manchester and Edinburgh. Taken his professional acting debut, with, The Polar Express Train Ride in 2022, performed in panto, murder mystery shows, radio comedy and children’s theatre. In 2023, he formed, Hedgehog Theatre, an family theatre company, performing most recently, Jacob’s own adaptation of, Through the Looking Glass, by Lewis Carroll. Jacob is currently available for hire, and specialises in theatre, stand-up and immersive theatre.

He is currently writing a comedy animation series called, Eternally Rude, a family comedy about immortal alien Swiggy Mallow and his never-ending mission to insult everyone in the universe...alphabetically. The show debuted, as a stage version, at The Winchester Hat Fair, in July 2021.

Jacob is a talented and multi-skilled actor, with a delightfully honest approach to the industry.
