About me

In February 2014, a thirteen-year-old Jacob watched Lee Evans’ final tour show, Monsters. His dad had bought it from the Co-op on DVD, £5.59, marked down from £10. He was instantly captivated by Evans’ style, energy and honest comedy. He watched him, admiring his flawless skill to capture the audience, and his ability to live in a perfect comedy moment. Allowing his performance to flow like water.

That’s probably worth a go. He thought. His music teacher gave him his first break at Shaftesbury School, Spring Variety evening 2014. He loved impersonating the teachers. Notably, pretending to be them when they barked their orders out, when they took pupils to their buses. “Do not overtake me, if you do the bus ain’t going”. He developed his observation, asking the question, why do sixth formers walk so slowly in the corridor? We need a lane system. He questioned his first audience member, asking, are you enjoying spring variety? Yes, said the man...um...good...a man ladies and gentlemen!

Ever since, Jacob’s playful impersonations, witty observations and cheeky ad-libing has earned him praise from audience and critics alike. Over the last 7 years, he has performed in 4 professional arts festivals, The Edinburgh Fringe, The Shaftesbury Fringe, The Greater Manchester Fringe and The Winchester Hat Fair. He has a hit radio show on Abbey 104, delighting listeners with a properly barmy approach to radio, with his impersonations doing live traffic reports, and a brand-new radio sketch at the top of every episode. As well as performing comedy, Jacob has a 1st class degree in Comedy: Production and Performance from the University of Winchester, and has written TV and radio sketch comedy, which has been featured on the BBC.

He is currently writing a comedy animation series called, Eternally Rude, a family comedy about immortal alien Swiggy Mallow and his never-ending mission to insult everyone in the universe...alphabetically. The show debuted, as a stage version, at The Winchester Hat Fair, in July 2021.

Jacob is a talented and multi-skilled comedian, with a delightfully honest approach to comedy.
